The Clans That Have Never Fallen

No keep held by the Dwarven Clans has fallen in three centuries — not because their walls cannot be broken, but because no army has ever judged the cost of breaking them worth paying. The Clans do not chase glory in the open field. They wait behind stone, and let the field come to them.

Where other kingdoms measure a battle by ground taken, the Clans measure it by how many attackers gave up first. A Dwarven line doesn't need to win a fight quickly. It only needs to still be standing when everyone else has stopped trying.
